In 2023 a procurement team on a tight timeline needed a volume of custom ancillary furnishings, including many pillows and textiles that were no longer available. An architect referred the project manager to Redesign Collective.
Redesign Collective recreated the discontinued items and furnished three buildings of a new campus in Redmond, Washington with 90 custom pillows within 4 weeks, meeting the installation deadline.

Redesign Collective was founded on a simple realization: the commercial interiors industry doesn't have a material shortage, it has an infrastructure disconnect.
Crafting a regional alternative to continuous extraction.
Commercial architecture turns over rapidly. Leases renew, tenant spaces refresh, and commercial cut-and-sew facilities generate clean, high-grade surplus that has historically lacked a structured pathway back into architectural specification.
Redesign Collective emerged in the Pacific Northwest to change how designers interact with secondary materials. What began as hands-on textile diversion has evolved into a dedicated design and fabrication studio that treats surplus textiles not as "waste," but as high-specification architectural assets.
We believe the most sustainable material is the one that has already been manufactured. By combining meticulous artisan fabrication with commercial-grade specifications, we provide design teams with a localized, circular supply partner they can specify with confidence.

Creator, FabMatch
Lisa Hilbert is the founder of Redesign Collective and creator of FabMatch, a new technology-based approach to moving excess commercial interior textiles into products and projects. Through Redesign Collective, a circular design and remanufacturing studio, she has diverted more than 5,000 pounds of high-performance commercial textiles from disposal since 2022 and developed reclaimed-textile products for Class-A commercial interiors across Puget Sound.
FabMatch emerged to scale this work and a 2026 R&D partnership with the University of Washington Global Innovation Exchange (GIX), exploring how technology can connect available reclaimed materials with product development, specification, and procurement.
Lisa has also contributed to Washington State's emerging textile responsibility and Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) conversations and was honored as "Recycler of the Year – Innovation" by the Washington State Recycling Association.
