SERVICES

OUR PROCESS

Plan ahead what will happen to your discontinued samples and endrolls. We help interior design trade partners manage their excess textiles and achieve their businesses’ sustainability goals.

Our services comply with Extended Producer Responsibility Laws (NY, MA) which require U.S. showrooms and manufacturers to establish a textile-specific recycling operator.

COLLECTION

We partner with interior design and architecture firms in the Greater Seattle Area to offer collection services for textiles and other material samples. We offer tiered packages from $1.25/lb which covers the overhead to transport, grade, sort, and store materials and evaluate their potential reuse.

Each date of collection includes concrete metrics which you can report to stakeholders showing the environmental and social impact of your choice to divert materials from landfill through Redesign Collective.

See below for creative options for what we can do with your textiles in addition to collection.

Custom design

We have heard from Materials Librarians and Showroom Managers that it pains them to throw away discontinued textile samples. Often they have ideas of what they would make from these beautiful fabrics if they had the time and sewing skills.

One survey found 70% of employees prefer sustainably made gifts*

Let us add value to your team by converting your fabrics into company gifts and customer appreciation assets your business can be proud to share with others.

Options are available such as adding a custom logo tag, embroidery, and other personalization.

  1. Fabric Consultation

We meet to evaluate fabrics and brainstorm end uses, understand your goals, timeline, and budget. We have a $250 project minimum.

  2. Upcycling Plan

We’ll share 3 upcycling designs that reuse your textiles and agree on a design and specific textiles used.

  3. Prototype
We will make a sample for your approval.

  4. Delivery
We will deliver finished products in person or via mail.

sponsor our donation program

Sponsorship allows Redesign Collective to provide upcycling education events and materials to nonprofits and schools in the greater Seattle area that use textiles to positively impact their community.

This programming is not covered under nonprofits’ operating budget and your sponsorship pays for the labor to remove and reprocess your unwanted materials into ready-to-use kits transporting textiles where they are needed.

If you would like your textiles to be featured and utilized to positively benefit the community, please contact us to Sponsor a Donation.
Thank you for making these educational events and donations possible.

nonprofit community partners

We partner with community organizations like Mother Africa in Kent, WA, which serves refugee youth and their families. We also support The Common Threads Project, an internationally recognized art therapy program that helps women process and reclaim their trauma through “story cloths” made from textile scraps. Redesign Collective provides textiles and sewing materials to support 8 therapy groups at Seattle-area nonprofits serving refugee women. Visit our Blog for more about our community partnerships.
